Opening Night: Opera Under the Stars at Meadowood with Nadine Sierra and Jonathan Tetelman

Festival Napa Valley uncorks its 13th season at Meadowood Napa Valley with a dazzling alfresco celebration and a performance by two singing sensations: soprano Nadine Sierra and tenor Jonathan Tetelman.

The sumptuous-voiced Sierra – who captivated festival audiences in years past - debuted at San Francisco Opera in 2010 and triumphed in Rigoletto at La Scala and in Le nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera. “There was no way to listen to soprano Nadine Sierra… and feel anything but awe and delight,” wrote the San Francisco Chronicle.

Praised by Opera News for his “galvanizing presence,” Jonathan Tetelman was recently awarded First Prize in the 2016 New York Lyric Opera Competition, and has performed at the world’s most accomplished opera houses and festivals. Sierra and Tetelman join forces to perform operatic favorites with maestro Joel Revzen and the festival’s Blackburn Music Academy Orchestra.

Under the stars at the bucolic Vintner’s Glen, guests will dine on a gourmet feast prepared by Meadowood’s ace culinary team led by estate chef Alejandro Ayala. Dinner will be paired with some of Napa Valley’s finest wines – a simply perfect start to this year’s festivities.
